Van Cleef & Arpels Launches Papillons Line in HK

Van Cleef & Arpels recently launched their Papillons collection at the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.Papillon, meaning “Butterfly” is a high jewellery collection which focuses on the pretty creature that was first used by Van Cleef & Arpels in the 1920s.

The line also hones in on the mimicry between butterflies and flowers and a particular highlight is the Cherry Blossom clip (above) which features petals in white gold, and yellow and white diamonds.

Meanwhile corollas of pink cyclamens in platinum, pink gold, emeralds and pink sapphires are found on the Leilus necklace (above).

Elsewhere the Vanessa, Brocatelle d’or, Bloomfidia and Aliris species of butterflies are all made into creations bearing their names. The Brocatelle d’or (above) is a particularly wonderous set of golden earrings veined with diamonds, yellow gold, garnets and yellow sapphires.

On the other hand, the Bloomfidia butterfly (above) is made into a white and yellow gold clip, complemented by diamonds, spinels, garnets, and tsavorite and demantoid garnets.

As far as necklace are concerned, the Blumei (above) comprises diamonds, sapphires and aquamarines (which closely resemble the markings of the original moth) as well as a pendant on which a Japanese butterfly is poised. One final creation that catches the eye is the Issoria necklace (above) which is a constellation of small diamond butterflies surrounding a pink sapphire heart.
